Experiences and interests:

Henry is an animal health professional with experience as a private veterinarian and Livestock Officer for USAID-funded programs (Apolou, RCF) in Uganda, focusing on food security and livestock disease control. His extensive work includes participation in World Animal Organization (WOAH) and Performance of Veterinarian Services assessments, animal health market system resilience analysis, evaluation of veterinary service privatization barriers, design of disease surveillance systems, development of disease control strategies (Tick borne diseases, Contagious bovine Pleuropneumonia & Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia), and implementation of vaccination Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). He has also conducted liquidity profiling, sustainability inquiries, producer organization viability assessments, and seroprevalence studies, alongside economic investigations of diseases in the Karamoja region, Northern Uganda.

Henry's skills encompass laboratory and field diagnostics, field and participatory epidemiology, market system development, project and program management, animal welfare, and One Health in infectious disease management and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He is passionate about sustainable, evidence-based animal health interventions to boost productivity, food security, and community resilience, specifically addressing transboundary animal diseases, zoonoses, neglected livestock diseases, AMR, climate change, and food insecurity. Outside of work, Henry is a devoted Liverpool FC supporter and an avid photography enthusiast.
