Research Interests & Expertise

Esther Nwanna (Ph.D) is a biochemist whose research focuses on the pharmacological applications and molecular mechanisms of natural products in the treatment of diseases affecting humans,  and animals. Her study in Dr Okello Lab centers on the development of innovative, plant-based phytotherapeutics to combat antimicrobial-resistant pathogens responsible for mastitis in California dairy cattle. She is a 2024 awardee of the prestigious AAUW International Postdoctoral Fellowship grant.
