Did you see it? The Cardboard Cow appeared at Meadow Lane Elementary School in Lemoore, California, then it was gone. Yet if you were not able to see it, don’t dismay. We captured it . . . on camera.
On Friday, October 28, 2011, the Cardboard Cow, Kandi Gist, and Grant Jones-Wiebe, all from the UC Davis, VMTRC in Tulare, were invited to Meadow Lane’s Harvest of Knowledge. It is “a school-wide event designed to promote and educate students from kindergarten to sixth grade about the importance and impact agriculture has in their everyday lives.” The trio gave a 10 minute presentation then helped each child to hear their own heart beating using a stethoscope. Then the children could treat themselves to palpating Cardboard Cow, touching real clean cow bones, and examining resources that veterinarians have in their toolboxes.

Meadow Lane Elementary, thank you for inviting Cardboard Cow, Kandi, and
me to your Harvest of Knowledge, 2011! It was a “kick!” Remember to
pursue what you like to do. Your talents will help you to succeed in life
and will contribute positive things to the lives of others.
